WELDING OF MICROFLUID STRUCTURES
Due to the high beam quality of M² <1.1, futonics lasers are used in microfluid technology. In combination with a scanner system, weld seams with a minimum width of 50 µm are achieved. At the wavelength of 2.0 µm used by Futonics, many transparent materials (e.g. PMMA or PC) have sufficient intrinsic absorption of the laser radiation, which makes welding possible without the addition of absorbent coatings. The Futonics lasers achieve very good results, especially in the case of transmission welding from transparent to non-transparent materials.
